Easter arrived. Yippee ... lots of fun. Time got the eggs-Easter eggs. Various churches may have a different tradition in welcoming the Passover. However, how Easter is making a difference in our lives?
Readings today contains one of the very clear statement of Jesus about himself. He describes himself as the good Shepherd, who gave his life for his sheep (verse 11). This picture may arouse keharuan. If he was already so loved us and gave up his life, is not it should we reply we-sihi him? Verses 17-18 membuyarkan this concept. Jesus died and rose is not a figure of the helpless and need our help. He had power over his life-if he's dead, it's because she's decided to give it; and when She got up, it's because he's got the power to take it again. His listeners were stunned (verses 19-21). Thou art possessed and insane, Jesus! Who has that kind of power? However, that's the fact. Jesus that we celebrate his resurrection could rise because he is God, who has the power over life and death.
And, isn't that should give a big difference in our day to day lives? If Jesus ' life and death clasped in his hands, are there any other things that are beyond the control of him? A pair of hard, heavy disease, uncertain future, life after death. Easter open our eyes to who we should turn. Yes, to Jesus, the owner of our living-dead. -ELS
