Read: 1 Peter 2: 18-25
He himself had to bear all our sins in his body on the cross, so that we, who are dead to sin, alive to the truth. By his stripes-weal him ye have healed. (1 Peter 2: 24)

In his painting entitled "The Raising of the Cross", Rembrandt's doing something unusual in the world of painting in Europe at the time. He painted himself as the one who crucify Christ. The look on her face menggelantung in grief. However, both his hands look excited holding a cross. Through the painting, he delivered a paradox. He doesn't like Christ was crucified, but dosanyalah makes Christ ascended to the top of the cross.
Long before His birth, the Apostle Peter has to understand this truth. Even though Christ died crucified-way an execution that is intended only for the criminal class snapper, his death sentence was not because he was a villain. Peter emphatically declared that Christ could not sin (verse 22). In fact, during the Jesus underwent the penalty, he did not issue a verbal abuse and anger moans as is often done by the convicted person to die of that age (paragraph 23). Why did he have to die crucified? Because she was about to bear our sins (v. 24). She replaces us to bear the punishment for our sins so that we "cured"; so we get out of our ketersesatan and get back to our Heavenly Father (verses 24-25).
When we looked at the cross, do we only look at Christ and a crowd of people who hate him? Is there, like Rembrandt, we see ourselves is also present there and contributing to crucify him? Kneel beneath the cross and say from your heart, "Lord Jesus, thank you for being willing to die for thee to me!"-JIM
