PLACED TO SERVE

Read: Nehemiah 1: 1-11

When I was King beverage interpreter (Nehemiah 1: 11)

Bible in a year: Josh. 22-24

Ever fancied working as a draftsman drinking King? Taste the best drinks from all over the country before the King enjoyed, participated to wherever the King went, lived in his court, being a person of his/her choice, looks like fun, huh? That's the profession of Nehemiah. Quite surprising considering the progenitor of Nehemiah came from Judah, who conquered Babylon, and then conquered the Kingdom of Persia (2Chronicles 36: 20). If the King of Persia was about to choose the people's trust, why choose from the colonies, who could have wanted to grab his own independence?
Interesting to note how this God-given opportunity to fulfill his plans (paragraph 9). He did not put the Nehemiah became a priest or religious leaders. But precisely as a drink and later also as Regent (NEH. 5: 14). The word of God make Nehemiah understand that God's plan for his people has not yet been completed. Bring his people back with longing to worship in God, he beg forgiveness from God to Act (v. 10-11). The opportunity and the ability with which he had not worn to the pursuit of comfort living, but to serve the Lord.
Many people feel the new "serve" God if join the choir, teaching Sunday school, or become a preacher. If God's plan for all Nations to know and worship him (Matthew 28: 19-20), of course He does not want his children to serve only within church buildings. However, he also wants us to influence the world through various areas of the profession: Administration, pen, book media, and so on. Where does He put you? -ELS
