LOADING AND UNLOADING OF CARGO

Read: 1 Corinthians 12: 1-11

There are a variety of gifts, but the same spirit. There are a variety of service, but satuTuhan. There is also a variety of magic deeds, but the same God who did it all in all (1Cor 12: 4-6)

Bible in a year: Joshua 19-21

An image illustrating the Church like a wagon pulled by a leader of the hard-won at the front and driven some people from behind. Wagon wheels were made of wood in the shape of the box. While this is a charge, the wagon wheel-a round rubber wheels. As the wagon, many of the Church's "painstakingly executed" by several leaders and activists. Most of the Church might be like "the wheels of rubber round" it, not understanding where and how to serve. Then, how can we recognize the place and call our service?
Paul tells the Church at Corinth that each Member of the body of Christ has been given various gifts (v. 11), to be used for the common good (verse 7). Note the three sentences with the same structure in verses 4-6, each time with a difference: the gift (charism), service (diakonia), and miraculous deeds (energema). Charisma is a special ability of God to serve him. Diakonia does not only mean the service in General, but also areas of service where such capability is best used. Energema is an experience to be empowering and power of the spirit of the Lord when we serve.
Each Church can be involved ministering at the right place by recognizing the ability which God gave, the field of keterbebanan where the gift is best used, and experiencing the power of God when doing so. Let's take apart the charge: discover, develop, and use God's gift provided for us to be involved in his work, in the middle of the body of Christ and in the midst of the world. -JOO
