So David and his men went up to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, "As waters break out, God has broken out against my enemies by my hand." So that place was called Baal Perazim (1 Chronicles 14:11)

Everyone always wants success in life, And the key to reaching success, for example by studying diligently and work hard. That all? Let's look at David's experience and observe what is the key to his success.

News of the coronation of David as king had reached the ears of the Philistines, and they plan to capture him. Warfare is not new to David, had many victories he achieved. Naturally, if he, with confidence, and by relying on strategies that he learned the war, advanced with his troops. However, no such story. In two different occasions, David always ask God before the war (verses 10, 14) and then run what you have ordered him (verses 11, 15). After the resounding victory of the first, flow recognition from the mouth of David: "As waters break out, God has broken out against my enemies by my hand." (verse 11). He claimed that he was merely an intermediary. It is God who breaks in between the opposing forces; in like water. "Ask the Lord" is not a formula for success. By asking, David was actually subjecting themselves to his power, to follow God's way, and rely on Him.

In life, we are often faced with choices, decisions, and are not easy challenges. Do we pray and ask God in the face of all that? Furthermore, whether by asking Him, we are also careful to lay a submission to and preparedness for his commands live God's way? May we be given the sensitivity of hearing and obedience to execute that command. - LCM
