In the American Idol audition, a man who is so self-confident contestant. He convinced the jury that he was the star of the future. However, when he started singing, her voice was so poor that every few seconds the judges were forced to stop. He said angrily, "How can you not see my talents? So far no one ever criticized my voice!" I imagine, I wish there was a bold beginning to tell the firm that he is not fit to be a singer, he would recognize him with more precise and not be embarrassed in this event.
Reprimand or criticism is not necessarily bad. In fact, the warning may be a means for God to shape us. Criticism can prevent us from falling into an embarrassing mistake in the future (verses 14, 17). According to the author of Proverbs, respectable people are those who do not abstain from criticism. Ignoring criticism is tantamount to ignoring instruction (verse 18). In fact, the harsh criticism that could be the best form of one's love for us (verse 24).
Is this at the times you were reprimanded or criticized? How do you respond? Often our reaction is to reject, to be offended or angry, because the name is definitely not good to hear criticism. Let's remember the beauty and benefits of a good warning. Do not be too quick shut down of the rebuke. Accept it with humility. Digest wisely. Be thankful that God shapes us through love of neighbor warning. - JIM
