FATHER

Read: Romans 8:12-17

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." (Romans 8:15)

Bilquis Sheikh write his life story in a book I Dared to Call Him Father. "I suddenly realized that he listened to me. Just like my father in the world listen to me ... Suddenly I feel there are other people who were there. He's there. I could feel His presence ... I feel like a girl small that sit on the lap of his Father, "he wrote. The fact that he could call God as Father bring His love Bilquis feel incredible.

The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Romans also open how extraordinary this. He writes that the Christian people led by the Spirit of God are children of God (verse 14), and as a child, we can call Him Father de with the title. Consider thanks to the Father for His children. First, we are given the ability to turn off the works of the flesh (verse 13). That means we are given the ability to resist sin, to say no to temptation. Second, we no longer accept the spirit of slavery which makes us fear (verse 15). Third, we are the heirs of the promises of God (verse 17). Great blessings of the Father's great!

How often is the awareness that we have a Father in heaven coloring our daily lives? Often we succumb to the sin, round and round in fear and anxiety of living in the world. We need to more frequently remember our identity as children of God. And, let a sense of respect and joy in the hearts pumping consciously every time we call Him as Father. - GS
