LUCKY, I AM A FROG

Read: Genesis 31:1-3

Jacob heard that Laban’s sons were saying, "Jacob has taken everything that belonged to our father and has gained all his wealth from him." (Genesis 31:1)

Bible in a year: Genesis 27-29

The frogs, which live on the edge of the pond, sometimes sleep with my stomach growling because there was no insect passing day. He envied the fish in the pond. They work just swimming-pool, but pool owners must feed every morning and evening. He wanted to live like that. One afternoon, the pool owner to come, not to feed, but bringing nets to catch fish. "Tonight we party grilled fish," he said. Hear it, the frog realized how lucky he was because he was a frog.

Laban's children also seemed to be hit by envy. Therefore they started to talk behind Jacob, accusing him of taking their father's possessions (verse 1). Understandably, Jacob, who had not got nothing, now have plenty of goats, sheep, camels and donkeys (see chapter 30:43). Worse, Jacob was accused of "taking all his father's" them. Everything? Is not as children of Laban, they have part of their father's property? Is it true that Jacob took "all the" treasures of Laban? Comparing yourself with others, they found themselves deprived. What a misfortune!

Jealousy can arise when we lose a sense of gratitude for what God has given. We start comparing yourself with others. Love is faded, replaced insecurity and suspicion. If you start to experience it, beware. God's Word reminds us, where there is envy, there is confusion and every evil work (See James 3:16). Raise the dose of gratitude and love every day, so that can not grow envious at heart - ARS
