Bible in a year: Genesis 8-11

Ever seen a millipede? Imagine if this many-legged animals walk while busy watching his feet one by one, trying to study the mechanism of step. The road will be screwed. Instead of a mess, is not she should not have to think? Similarly, many people feel the faith do not need much thought. The simpler, the better. Studied theology threatens the simplicity of faith. Are not we are advised to become like children (childlike)? Understanding of teaching is part of the "servant of the Lord" and "theologian". Congregation "layman" enough to learn about practical spirituality.

In contrast, the Bible describes that the overall growth towards maturity (paragraph 15) also includes the adults in "faith and knowledge of the true" will of God. That is, we just have to deliberately think and grow in the knowledge of God (verse 13, see also 2 Peter 3:18). This is exactly the meaning of the word theology (TEOS = God + logos = knowledge, comprehension). People with a true understanding of God will not easily "swayed" (verse 14). Become like children in the faith does not mean being Childish or immature (1 Corinthians 14:20).

How many aspects of this growth we notice? We can not love, serve, and worship the One who did not we know or we know vaguely. In this new year, let's look for and use every means available to help the growth of our more mature in the knowledge of God - Joo
