"Take a census of the whole Israelite community by families—all those twenty years old or more who are able to serve in the army of Israel." (Numbers 26:2)
Bible in a year: Luke 22-24
Hung Ba Le was only 5 years old when he came out of Vietnam as "boat people". He did not know what kind of future will he met in America, where he was stranded. His parents just hope that he gets a better life. Apparently, the Americans opened a great opportunity for Hung Ba Le. When 34 years later he returned to Vietnam, he had become commander of U.S. destroyer, the USS Lassen. He was the first Vietnamese-blooded Americans who became commander of the warship.
To the nation of Israel, God had also given a second chance. The first generation came out of Egypt, God punished them so that they are not able to enter the Promised Land, because of their rebellion. Now, the second generation gets a chance to get in there. The Census aims to count the number of capable fighting force of Israel to enter Canaan which was not much different from the number of their parents' generation. First, the first generation was scared and did not dare to attack the Canaanites. However, the Lord reminded them that it's not about the amount, but the inclusion of God that enables them to conquer the Promised Land. And they succeeded. God always fulfills his promises seriously.
Until now, He has not changed. Each of us had been a sinful man, who lives in sin. However, we are given a second chance: forgiven, restored spiritually, and given new life. Thus, the important thing now is our response to faithfully live according to His word every day. In order from there, we can achieve a meaningful life and triumphant with Christ - Eno
THERE IS A SECOND LIFE AFTER THIS EARTHLY LIFE THEN SEIZE A SECOND CHANCE OF A NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
