Some time ago, a giant napkin spreand on HI Roundabout, Jakarta. This giant napkin is a form of action against injustice concerns that often experienced by domestic workers, both domestically and abroad. They are widely experienced abuse, violence and even lead to death. It was about to remind citizens of Jakarta that many activities can work well as domestic service workers. Therefore, recognition, respect and fulfillment of the rights of domestic workers, must be considered.
In his letter to the Colossians, the Apostle Paul also reminds each of you who have slave to always be fair and honest (verse 1). To be fair can mean giving workers what they are entitled to. Do not give the work load more than what should be done. Do not exploit or take advantage of the position of workers who are weaker for the benefit and personal gain or company.
We must always remember that the wisdom and love should be stated in all areas, including household and work environment. Do not let us known as a philanthropist in the church, but treat workers harshly or imposing hardship on the company policy to our workers. Remember, we are also the servants who must someday give an account to God. In the eyes of God, we and our workers are equivalent - SL
