WHY LORD?

The book of Joel is an interesting book and menggentarkan heart because loaded with news judgment. We can divide it in two parts. Article 1-2 talk about how Israel will be punished, so they put respect only to God. Chapter 3 describes how the Nations who refuse to honor the Lord will also be punished.
What is the reason the Lord punished to his people on their own? Since article 1: 1 to 2: 11, Joel just illustrates that God's punishment was awesome, like locusts plague that spends any result fields, so the enemy would destroy the country. However, why? Obviously it wasn't for hate, because in verse 12-14, God said: "Berbaliklah to me with all your heart, ..." God is still dear to his people. She wants is their whole heart. Readings today confirms the intention of God. God does not want his people double heart (verse 18). That allowed the Lord so that the punishment of his people learned that only God the only one who deserves to be worshipped (verse 17).
When our hearts began to turn away from God, he will act to bring us in repentance. Perhaps we begin to rely on yourself and it's no longer need prayer, and then God began to allow the problems to come. Relations broke down. We are frustrated, lose the peace in my heart. If you experienced it, this is the moment to return. God wants our hearts 100%. He did not want to be God only for the day of the week, just when we are going to eat or get out of bed, but in the whole of our lives. -ELS
