But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. (Luke 12:31)
Bacaan tahunan: Acts 21-24
Greed can hit anyone. Not only the people in power, the poor and have no power could also be one of addressing the treasure in his life. Greed of the people in power can lead to acts of corruption, greed of the poor can justify theft. All based on the attitude of relying on property, more than relying on God.
Contrary to this attitude to life, the Lord Jesus taught the faithful to believe in the providence of God in his life. His challenge to get people to sell all possessions and give alms is a radical response so people can come loose from the shackles that prevented property to find the kingdom of God. Human greed to hoard treasure, will cause an imbalance, injustice, and social jealousy. This message not only to talk in those days because of the social inequality between the poor are oppressed by the invaders, and among the wealthy who colluded with the authorities. However, it also speaks to the moment and in this country, where many of collusion between the holders of power and money, to enrich themselves.
That rely on the Lord of life led to an attitude of life willing to share. Instead, rely on the treasure of life makes people greedy and selfish. Lord knows we need the property for life, but the treasure is absolutely not allowed to be the mainstay. The Lord Jesus wants us to seek the kingdom of God first, others will be added. Our Lord never broken a promise. So, when we rely on the providence of God, we will not be disappointed - Eno
GREED IS AN ATTEMPT TO OBTAIN A PART OF LIFE AND THE ONE WHICH CAN DESTRUCTIVE OF LIFE ITSELF
