Baca: Acts 1: 6-11
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit descended upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the Earth. " (Acts 1: 8)
Bacaan tahunan: Psalm 111-118
On every Sunday of Pentecost, started in 2000, believers from all countries and denominations of the Church, gathered in different places in the World Day of prayer, to pray for the world: "the King of glory, come and finish your work of yours in the cities, communities, and our nation."
This movement is based on the example of the communion prayer of the Apostles after Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven (vv. 13-14). This is the response of their faith against God's promise about the descent of the Holy Spirit (v. 8). Many people remember the Holy Spirit as a helper and entertainer, but often forget that the main purpose of his coming was to give power to the disciples of Christ in order to be witnesses to the ends of the Earth. The Holy Spirit does not come down to making our business smoothly and our hearts delight, but rather to fill the Earth with the glory of God. When we are faithful bear witness to her, the Holy Spirit will help strengthen and, even at the most difficult moments though (see Mark 13: 9-11).
When we believe, we have received the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1: 13-14). Whether we are aware of his presence in power and subjecting themselves to his guidance? He is present so that the world can see how Christ is glorified in and through the lives of his students. A life filled with the excitement of praying and studying the word; courageous living God's truth in all States the situation; life proclaiming the gift of salvation for all ethnic groups. -ELS
