Baca: 1Samuel 26:1-25
The LORD rewards everyone for their righteousness and faithfulness. The LORD delivered you into my hands today, but I would not lay a hand on the LORD’s anointed. (1Samuel 26:23)
Bacaan tahunan: Job 14-16
People said the same opportunities never come twice! Therefore, only a fool would let the opportunity pass! Maybe that Abishai mind when I saw David was not using the opportunities that are open in front of him to kill Saul (verse 8). After all, if Saul's death, the way for David to be king would be wide open? And Abishai course will be important because it helps the king in that regard.
However, David's way of thinking is different from Abishai, and most people who tend to think of their own interests. David was more concerned to honor God in his actions, even if it means missing an opportunity that is in front of the eyes (verse 9). Saul indeed have made his life difficult, but he has been anointed by God as king. Only God has the right to raise or lower it. David also chose to await the time and manner of the Lord. He believes, will come, Saul was punished for his crimes, according to the justice of God (verse 10). Over the wisdom of God, actions and words of David made Saul admitted in front of his troops that he had been foolish and misguided policies (paragraph 21).
God's way beyond the human mind. That was the last time Saul chasing David. God did not remain silent to see His children were oppressed by the tyranny of those who do not fear God. He's got a better way to help us. The question is whether we will believe and obey and follow God's timing? Come to the Lord, beg His wisdom, that we are not entangled in human wisdom. Congratulations obey! - Eno
