Bacaan tahunan: 1 Kings 6-7
Many people want to meet the Messiah, but their hopes are not fulfilled. It is an extraordinary grace that Simon and his companions were allowed to meet the Messiah, even to become His disciples. Therefore, Jesus said, "Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear." Christ, and His work and words, are the most important things that everyone needs to see and hear. The Lord said to the disciples blessed are they because they see and hear that very important thing. What does it mean? Being able to see what needs to be seen and hear what needs to be heard is a great grace, a manifestation of God's mercy. Look at the following facts. Many people are lost because they do not see the direction to take, they stumble because they do not see the obstacles ahead, they fall because they do not see the precipice in front of them, they trip because they do not see the rock in front of their feet, they make the wrong decision because they do not see the right path. Likewise, many people draw wrong conclusions because they do not hear the things that should be prioritized, they make the wrong choices because they do not hear valuable options, they believe in the wrong things because they do not see who or what can be trusted, they anchor in the wrong place because they do not see the right dock. And many more. Truly, seeing what should be seen and hearing what should be heard is a great grace, God's mercy, which deserves to be responded to with respect, by choosing what we should choose. --EE/www.renunganharian.net
