This passage is about the Ten Commandments are the key to the law. There are many warnings (eight orders preceded the word "No"), a reminder (the law of the Sabbath), and another one commandment (to honor my father's mother). During its development, the Pharisees made a very detailed legal until it reaches 631. Instead, Jesus summarizes it becomes solid in just two commands: love God and love others.
Of the recipients of the law (the Israelis first, and we are at present) are expected to observe and perform these commands. The expected result is the moral life awake, as well as a purely spiritual life in obedience to God. This is certainly very positive. However, we need to keep myself from falling on the tendency of the heart that felt he had lived well, so feel deserves a "service mark" from Him.
From the beginning, when the law is given, Moses had given warning to the people so aware of the mentality of a mind that feels has "meritorious" because it obey God's command. Instead, the motivation was that we should have is that we keep His commandments as God's response: "I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt, from the house of bondage" (paragraph 2). Therefore, let us open our hearts to see that God's first remarkable work for ourselves. As well, keep on believing that what we give to God is a form of expression of gratitude for his love that no measurable - DKL
