FIRM IN FAITH
23 June 2026
Baca: DANIEL 6
Bacaan tahunan: Psalm 51-57
The local officials chosen by Darius were jealous of Daniel. Therefore, they tried to find a way to accuse Daniel. Unfortunately, they found no wrongdoing in Daniel. They then plotted secretly by setting up a ban on praying to God. However, despite knowing the rule, and the risks involved, Daniel continued to pray to God.
Daniel did not hide his faith even though he knew there were threats. Daniel did not defend himself using human strength, but surrendered himself to the Lord. As a result, even when thrown into the lion's den, God shut the lions' mouths so that Daniel was not harmed. The truth prevailed, the king acknowledged Daniel's God, and those who slandered Daniel received punishment.
Sooner or later, the truth will prevail because the Lord Himself is the Upholder of Truth. Perhaps the process will still unfold naturally. Just like Daniel who had to accept punishment by being thrown into the lion's den. Nevertheless, the Lord is always able to help us in His ways. As the Psalm says, "He will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday" (Psalm 37:6).
However, what if instead, we are the ones hiding lies and trying to cover them up? It would be better to repent immediately and end our wrongdoing. Do not delay! For if not, like the fate of Darius' officials, we too will not escape the punishment of the Lord. --EBL/www.renunganharian.net
