DAMAGED DUE TO EMPTY

Baca: Psalm 119:33-57

Bacaan tahunan: Luke 21-22

In the housing complex where I currently live, there are many empty houses that are damaged, full of bushes, and some even have collapsed roofs. These houses were actually sturdy a few years ago when they were occupied. However, once left empty because the owner passed away and their children did not want to live there, or the house was bought by someone and left unattended, slowly but surely damages started to appear and eventually the house collapsed.

Just like a house that will be ruined if left empty and not maintained, our lives can slowly deteriorate and eventually be destroyed if we no longer practice the good habits we used to have. We no longer fill our hearts with the love of God so it becomes empty. One of the keys to happiness from Jesus is to listen to the word of God and keep it. It means we have to continuously practice the word of God, persevere even when facing difficult situations, and be willing to pay the price to maintain our faith in the Lord. No matter how severe the conditions and difficulties are, our lives will not be ruined if we always fill our hearts with Jesus Christ and always keep the word of God.

Just like a house needs maintenance, needs to be lived in, and needs activities inside to be well-maintained, so does our spiritual body. We must be willing to pay the price to keep our spiritual body well-maintained. For example, resolving conflicts. If we start to feel small damages within us, let's fix and resolve them immediately.
