COME FROM HEART

Baca: Luke 11:37-44

Then the Lord said to him, “Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. (Luke 11:39)

A young man on a motorcycle stopped by police for violating a red light. The cop asked, "Did you see the lights had turned red?" The young man calmly replied, "I see, sir." "Then why are you still break through it?" the cop asked in surprise. The youth replied lightly, "The thing is, I do not see you standing there." Oh my God! The young man obeyed only if there are officers.

Piety of the Pharisees also just in front of people. Worship they prefer the flesh, in order to be good and praiseworthy. How to clean the cup from the outside while the inside remains dirty (verse 39). Jesus rebuked them harshly, "Woe unto you!" His words as he revealed their wickedness (verses 42-44). For the Pharisees, man sanctified by his actions, while for Jesus, holiness born of a changed heart, and manifests in action (paragraph 41). A pure heart will conduct a clean delivery. Instead, the act does not necessarily guarantee a clean a clean heart.

Priority to the outside appearance of danger rather than a change of heart may also occur to us. The desire to be seen whether it can make us behave well in front of people. However, what if no one else? Let the warning of Jesus to make us fell down in terror before the All-Knowing God. Yes, He knows the hearts of every person. Our sweet behavior can not deceive Him.
