NO MATTER WHAT

Baca: JOB 1

Bacaan tahunan: Job 17-20

A man often sings, "Lord Jesus is good, very good. Forever, Lord Jesus is good." His friend beside him sarcastically remarked, "I wonder if you will still sing that song if today your business goes bankrupt, and your wife divorces you." "No matter what," he replied, "no matter what my life situation is, Lord Jesus is good." A man from the land of Us once made the same statement. The man's name was Job. He said, "The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord!" (Job 1:21). He said this after a great disaster struck him. On that day, it was reported to him that a band of raiders had stolen his oxen and donkeys and killed his servants, followed by fire from heaven burning up his sheep, followed by the Chaldeans raiding his camels (Job 1:14-17). There was also an additional report, that his ten children were killed together in the eldest son's collapsed house struck by a mighty wind (Job 1:18-19). No matter what. Whatever happened, Job decided to remain faithful to the Lord. It is a common sight when people go to worship the Lord saying, "I love You, Lord," or singing songs, "Lord Jesus is good." Even Satan is not bothered by that fact. No matter what, this is what troubles the heart of Satan and impresses the heart of the Lord. The Lord desires to see people who continue to faithfully worship Him even when faced with various problems, continue to love Him regardless of what has happened, and declare that He is good in every situation of their lives. In the past, the Lord found Job (Job 1:8). May the Lord now find similar figures in us. --LIN/www.renunganharian.net
